Mildred June (Boots) Clark

October 20, 1930 ~ February 27, 2018 (age 87)

Boots Clark was born in Maryville, Tennessee to Carl and Melva Bradley on October 20th, 1930 and went home to the Lord on February 27th, 2018.

In 1944, the family moved from Tennessee to Oregon to work in the shipyards; eventually opening Bradley’s Groceries on North Ivanhoe Street in St. Johns. Boots graduated from Roosevelt High School and began a work career that included the Heinz’s company, PP&L and the Portland Realty Board. In 1952 she married Wesley Clark and they became forever “Wes & Boots”.

Their son Bradley arrived in 1956 and daughter Laura followed in 1959. Boots enjoyed bowling leagues and shopping at Lloyd Center with her sister Judy. She loved time spent at her cabin with her family in Lincoln City. She was at her happiest and best when cooking family meals. Sunday’s were family days gathered around her table. Boots created wonderful Holiday memories in her home. Our cherished memories of magical Christmas Eve’s in the family home on northeast 75th Street will never fade. She was a loyal friend to many who spent frequent afternoons drinking coffee around her dining room table. Boots loved sports. Parties were organized around watching the Blazers or University of Tennessee games in her family room. She was a master at halftime meals and 4th quarter desserts, where pie was usually involved. RIP City and GoVols forever.

Boots raised money for cancer research and volunteered at both Portland Providence Hospital and Luther Memorial Church.

She was a wonderful wife to her beloved Wes for 57 years, a devoted daughter to Carl and Melva and a loving sister and best friend to Judy and Rick. She was the best Mom, Grandma, Aunt, and Cousin. She loved us all.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wes and is survived by her son, Bradley (Karen); daughter, Laura (Tim); sister, Judy (Larry); brother, Rick (Luisa); 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many loving nephews, nieces and cousins in Oregon and Tennessee.

A private celebration of life will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church Boots loved:
