Ann Marie Mishler was born in Portland, Oregon. Growing up in Milwaukie, she spent many days playing in the neighborhood and gardens with her brother, sister, and many nearby cousins.
She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Portland, and was a faithful member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for all of her 91 years. Ann met Alvin Schnur around 1950; they fell in love, were married, and raised their family of four children in their Milwaukie home. She loved gardening, cats, and Elvis. She was known for her kindness, generosity, humor, and above all for being an incredible mom and grandmother.
Ann will be remembered with love by her children, Mike, Dave, Sue, Tom, and their spouses and families. Better known to some as Nanny, she was proud to say she had eight grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and was recently thrilled to hear she has another great grandbaby on the way.
Ann passed away peacefully and will be laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery with her beloved husband, Alvin.
Donations in Ann’s memory may be made to one of her favorite charities, St. Vincent de Paul of Milwaukie or to the House of Dreams Shelter ( https://www.kittydreams.org ) in honor of her love of cats.
