Bruce George Robinson

Bruce George Robinson passed away peacefully at home in Milwaukie, Oregon on October 6, 2025.

He was born at Emanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon on May 24, 1944 to George and Virginia Robinson. He grew up in Toledo, Oregon and had one sister, Judy. He graduated from Toledo High in 1962 where he played football. After graduating he enlisted in the Navy and served in Vietnam. He was part of the Seabee's as a cement finisher and served until 1966.

He moved to Portland, Oregon where he met Suzanne Fulton, they were married on November 18, 1967. They had a daughter, Jennifer Sue on Nov 23, 1968 and a second daughter, Nicole Lynn on Dec 2, 1972. In 1974 they moved to Milwaukie, Oregon.

Bruce was an Iron worker at the Local 516 and worked at several metal fabrication shops. He started and owned Grating Fab for several years before going to work at Western Wire where he worked on the Pacific Welding team. In the late 90's he went to work at Robertsons Grating Products as the shop foreman where he worked until he retired.

He and Sue enjoyed camping at Wickiup and Metolius River every Summer over the years. In his younger years Bruce enjoyed bow hunting and always enjoyed fly fishing. They enjoyed their Summer trips down to Maricopa, Arizona to visit their youngest daughter, Nicole and husband, Steve Matcuk and their three grandkids, Alexys, Andrew and Brody. Bruce spent many years restoring a 1970 Chevelle and loved building things. They also enjoyed spending time down at Garibaldi, Oregon at their beach house and they were fosters for the Pacific Pug Rescue.

Bruce is survived by his sister, Judy Hyden, her husband, George, their son, Stacy Hyden; daughter, Jennifer (Robinson) Lummus, her husband, Scott; daughter, Nicole Matcuk, her husband, Steve; grandchildren, Alexys Matcuk, Andrew Matcuk and Brody Matcuk; and beloved Pug, Rose. His wife of 57 years, Suzanne passed away just eight days after he did.

A Cemetery Service with full Military Honors will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Oregon.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in his memory be made to the Providence Cancer Institute Franz Clinic; where his wife, Suzanne received treatment for Ovarian Cancer.
