Daniel Edsel Thompson, 37, of Milwaukie, Oregon, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
Daniel was born on January 16, 1989, in Trinidad, Colorado. He later moved to Oregon and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 2007.
Daniel had a deep love for the outdoors, which he fulfilled by tending his garden, watching birds, casting a line, and exploring new places through hiking and camping. He gave his time and energy freely, actively participating in civic horticulture projects and showing up without hesitation whenever family or friends were in need. Thoughtful with his words and deliberate with his time, he had a gift for humor—an easy, genuine kind that lifted the room without effort.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Adrienne Thompson; parents, Duane and Viki Thompson; brother, Christopher Thompson and sister-in-law, Kim Nguyen; niece and nephew, Olivia and Mason, who knew him as a devoted and playful uncle; and paternal grandparents, Jim and Charlotte Thompson. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Virginia Johnson.
His kindness and generosity touched everyone fortunate enough to know him, and his memory will be carried forward by all who loved him.
In celebration of Daniel's love for the natural world, the family welcomes donations in his memory to the Oregon Wildlife Foundation (https://secure.givelively.org/donate/oregon-wildlife-foundation/oregon-wildlife-foundation/duane-thompson).
