Franklin “Scott” Barber, 82, of Gladstone, Oregon passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Born on August, 22 1943, Scott lived a life defined by kindness, curiosity, and unwavering devotion to the people he loved. Scott was the third generation to graduate from Oregon State University in 1971 obtaining a master’s degree in counseling, serving as a vocational councilor for over 30 years. His passion as a vocational councilor was unswerving and he enjoyed helping others to find their way into a new career path after recovering from on the job injuries.
Scott’s favorite hobbies included gardening, building model airplanes, and writing.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara; children, Terry and Karyn; grandchildren, Adam and Sara; and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald “Spark” and Betty Jean Barber.
