James "Jim" Louis Lotz

James "Jim" Lotz passed away on June 8, 2026, in the United States. Born on December 4, 1933, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jim graduated from Sycamore High School in 1951. He attended the University of Cincinnati and served as a Private First Class in the U.S. Army.

In 1958, Jim married Catherine Buck, and they shared 47 years of marriage. In 1960, he relocated to the Milwaukie area, where he resided and raised his five daughters.

Jim was a skilled Journeyman Plumber and a proud member of the UA Local 290 Union from 1953 until his passing in 2026. Over his career, he worked for the State of Oregon, the City of Portland, and on industrial projects across Oregon, Washington, and Hawaii.

A devout member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Jim was actively involved in numerous organizations, including the City of Milwaukie Planning Committee, Milwaukie Jaycees, Knights of Columbus, The Elks, St. Vincent de Paul Society, and Elders in Action.

Jim found joy in skiing, golfing, fishing, playing cards, and dancing.

He is survived by his sister, Patricia Anderson; brother, Tom Lotz; daughters, Sandy (Steve) Davis, Jacquie (Tim) Brubaker, Cheryl (Tom) Niehuser, and Michelle (Mike) Chrystal; son-in-law, Greg Isaacs; grandchildren, Christina Davis-Kao, Angela Neidig, Brandon Wanous, Jeff Wanous, Carena Wilson, Anthony Niehuser, Joseph Niehuser, Andrew Chrystal, and Aaron Chrystal; seven great-grandchildren; and companion, Patti Blank. He was preceded in death by his parents; Catherine Lotz; and daughter, Karen Lotz.

A private interment with Military Honors will take place at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Oregon. A Celebration of Life will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Milwaukie Elks Lodge #142 in Milwaukie, Oregon.
