Margaret "Mags" Elaine Ciarlo

Margaret “Mags” Elaine Ciarlo (Ellis) of Portland, Oregon passed away on Oct 3, 2026. She was born in Oregon City to George Sr. & Doris Ellis and raised in Milwaukie Oregon.

Margaret lived in Portland for most of her life with husband, Richard and son, Steven, staying busy while working at the Portland Airport with Wackenhut security, then most of her career was spent in the retail industry. Her and Richard enjoyed their annual vacations together. She enjoyed going to the coast with Richard to purchase their annual anniversary plates while enjoying the beautiful Oregon coast. She proudly displayed their anniversary plates in the living room amongst the seemingly hundreds of Owl pictures, figurines and wall art with many handmade Decoupage crafts as well. Always feeling like you were being watched as you walked into the living room.

Later in the 2000’s she and Richard moved to Reno to retire, but after a few years her health and missing family brought them back to Oregon. Before returning to Oregon to live, she visited Portland to be reunited with her daughter, Lesa, who she had not seen since birth. She was filled with so much emotions during this reunion and felt blessed to be reunited with Lesa and to have her back in her life after all these years.

Her interests were gardening with flowers in their yard, traveling, homemade cooking, loved hummingbirds, drawing and sketching.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Richard; son, Steven; daughter, Lesa; step-sons and daughters, several grandkids, great-grandkids, and twin brother, Michael A. Ellis (Julie), Jeanette Lamberton (Ron), George B. Ellis Jr. (Christina “Margaret’s angel”), Walter R. Ellis (Leticia), Kenneth P. Ellis; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George B. Ellis Sr. and Doris J. Ellis; brother, Richard R. Ellis; sister, Kathleen P. McCracken (Ellis).

Rest easy wife, mother, sister, daughter, sister-in-law and grandmother.

A Cemetery Service will be 2:15 p.m., Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Oregon.
