Roger Charles Holterman

Roger Charles Holterman, 86, died peacefully on June 9, 2025 in Portland, Oregon.

Chuck was born in Spencer, Wisconsin on August 3, 1938 to Minerva Scherer.  He graduated from Spencer High School in 1957, where he was captain of the Basketball team his senior year.  After graduating high school Chuck joined the United States Navy, where he served as an electrician for 20 years; most of which was spent in Atlantic Beach, Florida. In his spare time he worked at the original Beach Bowl in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. After retiring from the Navy, Chuck worked at the Jacksonville Shipyard for 2 years before moving back to Spencer, Wisconsin where he owned and operated his family tavern for a year.  He then moved back to Jacksonville, Florida and worked at Baptist Medical Center in the power plant for 20 years; after which he and his wife retired to Marshfield, Wisconsin.  After the death of his wife, Chuck moved to Portland, Oregon to live with his daughter and son-in-law.

Chuck is survived by his son, Michael Holterman (Karen); daughter, Chris Halsne (Robert); grandchildren, Jennifer Cribbs (Ashley), Zachary Krasselt, Nicholas Holterman, Kacey Hartl (Kyler), and Kathleen Holterman; great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Brecken, Kiera, and Brooks.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Minerva Scherer; and wife of 51 years, Sandra Bey Holterman.
