Sandra "Sandi" Lowe Hansen

Sandi passed peacefully on June 25, 2026 after a hard-fought 5 year battle with cancer. Throughout her treatment, Sandi constantly chose optimism and positivity. She was surrounded by family and friends in the days preceding her passing.

Sandi was born in Portland, Oregon on December 19, 1957, to Thomas and Connie Lowe. She was raised in Redmond, and later in Portland. She attended Reynolds High School and Mt. Hood Community College. While in college, she spent a year aboard Semester at Sea traveling the world.

Sandi married Jim Hansen in July 1984. They raised 2 children, Stephanie and Peter, in the Happy Valley area. Sandi was involved in volunteering at their schools, and later becoming a secretary in the athletic department at Rex Putnam High School. Sandi served NCSD for nearly twenty years.

Sandi spent many summers on the family boat in Canada, and loved being on the water spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Europe.

After retiring, Sandi enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening, her walking and travel group of 7 life-long girlfriends, and her yoga classes. Though, her favorite thing to do, was to be with her grandchildren. She never missed a sporting event, school activity, or recital.

Sandi is survived by her husband, Jim Hansen; mother, Connie Lowe; children, Stephanie Gossett and husband, Ryan, and Peter Hansen and wife, Ashleigh; siblings, Lori Martin and husband, Dennis and Bob Hansen and wife, Debra; sister-in-law, Christine Koopman; grandchildren, Sydney, Noah, Nora, Henry, and Halsey; and 7 nieces and nephews.

Sandi will be remembered for her smile and a spirit of friendship, giving, adventure, and love.
