On Sunday, November 27, 2022, Jacqueline (Jacky) Miller, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away, at the age of 74.
Jacky was born on October 29, 1948 in Portland, OR to Merrill and Lois Mitchell. She graduated from Cleveland High School and received an Associates from Portland Community College. Jacky worked most of her life as a payroll clerk, working for the City of Portland, Portland Community College, Centennial School District and Umatilla School District. On December 16, 1972, she married Russell Miller, Jr. They raised three daughters, Cynthia, Jamie and Stefani and two sons, David and Anthony.
Jacky had a passion for quilting, road trips and being a member of the LDS church. At her passing, she was the current president of the Pacific Northwest Chapter for Quilts for Kids, an organization that donates quilts to kids in need. Jacky was baptized as a member of the LDS church at age 14. She loved to learn about the church teachings, study the history of the church and research her ancestry. She even became a sister missionary and served by helping people find employment. Jacky also loved a road trip. Most recently, she meshed her love of genealogy and road trips by visiting the land of her ancestors in Nova Scotia. Jacky was a lover of 60s music, musicals and Hallmark movies and she adored her dog, Cameron.
She will be remembered by many for her kind heart, joyful spirit and quick wit.
Jacky was preceded in death by her father, Merrill; mother, Lois; sister Gail; brother Jon; and husband, Russ. She is survived by her five children, Cynthia, Jamie, Stefani, David and Anthony; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
