Obituary

Surrounded by family, Jerry Waymire passed away peacefully at Milwaukie Providence Hospital in Milwaukie, OR from respiratory failure due to lung cancer.  He was born in Hartwell, GA on November 24, 1952, to Amanda Evans and Therein McCullum.

He married Nancy J. (Obrist) Waymire, who sadly preceded him in death seven months earlier. Jerry and Nancy enjoyed camping and fishing in Rufus, OR, riding his motorcycle, watching old western movies, and spending time with their family, especially grandchildren.  During football season, Jerry could be found rooting for his beloved Georgia Bulldogs.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Bill Waymire and John Waymire.

He is survived by his daughters, Keri Mays of Milwaukie, OR, and Trista Allen of Kechikan, AK; stepchildren, Michele Vanhorn of Gresham, OR, John Burgoyne of RidgeCrest, CA, Scott Burgoyne of Oregon City, OR and Shawn Burgoyne of Happy Valley, OR; brothers, Clyde Waymire of Milwaukie, OR, and Melvin Waymire of Peoria, AZ; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren he loved dearly.

Memorial contributions for those who wish may be made to the American Lung Association: Lung.org

A celebration of life for Jerry will be held in the Spring of 2023.
